James Ong

James Ong is an original company member, now in his 26th season at The Pollard. He directed The Real Inspector Hound, All the Great Books (abridged) and Plaza Suite (co-director), has co-written several scripts and performed in radio and television. Jim has delighted audiences with his numerous roles, including Big Daddy in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Merlin in Camelot, Ross, Bishop Walsham, How and Snork in The Elephant Man, Mr. Akins in Send me No Flowers, the Common Man in A Man for All Seasons, Grandfather in Ragtime, Chairman(1990) and Nick Cricker/Durdles(2011) in Drood, Henry in The Lion in Winter, Mushnik in Little Shop of Horrors, Lazar Wolf in Fiddler on the Roof, numerous roles in Greater Tuna and Elvis in Middle-Aged White Guys. But he is perhaps best known as Ebenezer Scrooge in the Pollard's traditional A Territorial Christmas Carol.
